Note: Only one booking is required, but it is mandatory to provide the date and time of ferry crossing so that the relevant branches can be notified to ensure that a vehicle is ready for clients when they arrive off the ferry. If the customer is traveling from Picton to Wellington then the customer will leave the vehicle at the rental station located at the ferry terminal, and pick up the replacement vehicle from the rental station at Wellington ferry terminal. If the customer is traveling from Wellington to Picton then the customer should return the vehicle to the rental station at Wellington ferry terminal and pick up the replacement from the rental station at Picton.
Where to go with my rental carWhen renting a car, you are free to drive wherever you want as long as you keep to the local traffic rules which can be different that you are used to. Always keep to the maximum speed limit and be a responsible driver. Watch out if you want to cross the border into another country as there might be restrictions and/or extra fee's to be paid. If you want to take the car on a ferry, please always check with the local car rental agent if this is allowed as not all car rental companies allow it or extra fees might be applicable.
